Where Did I Get That?

Hey there!! I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day??  I had a lovely day, received some beautiful cards from my kids, a dainty surprise from my sister, went on a great run with my neighbor, and then Hubs came home late with flowers and a beautiful card...Sweet and simple!!

Thank you all for playing along with "Where Did I Get That?"  So, the answers to your burning questions...drum roll..please.

  1. Clutch-Last year-Goodwill-Gap
  2. T'shirt-Walmart-Norma Kamali  I just loved the necklace detail on the shirt..fun and quirky
  3. Jeans-Goodwill-AE Boyfriend
  4. Belt-My college days!!!-Gap
  5. Watch/Bracelets-Target
  6. Shoes-11 years old!!!-Nordstrom Rack
  7. Blazer??  So, I have been searching high and low for a blazer like this.  I found a few at Kohl's by LC Lauren Conrad, but did not want to pay $70!! Yes, they were asking that much for a lightweight blazer??  I thought I would wait and see if TJ Maxx or Marshall's had one.  Well, I found this one that is perfect.  It is machine washable, no-wrinkle, with a little sheen to it and subtle details........at Goodwill for $3.99!!

I know, so worth the wait! Sorry LC.  I will be restyling this quite often.
 Stay tuned!
Happy Weekend to you all.
 What do you have planned?
We have a long weekend ahead and an overdue date night.
YAY!

The Long of It

Necklace-Thrifted, Gold bangles and watch-Target, Wooden bangle-Bitten by SJP, shoes that you can not see Old Navy Women's Capri Sandal(note in store they are $10.94, not $14.94)

An Old Navy outfit from top to bottom!! How did I pull that one off?  I am not sure, but it works and I will revisit this look again and again.  It is easy, stylish and fun all at the same time.  I got so many compliments on the entire look.  Everyone thought that the skirt was a dress!  The necklace is a conversation starter in and of itself!!  So much fun was had pulling this look together and wearing it.
This was my pre-race day outfit! Stay tuned for my race post coming soon!! I am still trying to upload my photos and rest my sore legs!! YIKES!! They hurt so good!!

Oh, I am linking up withThe Pleated Poppy-what i wore wednesday

I Am Not A Rule Follower

It's funny how people like to sum you up as something, or place labels on you without really knowing who you are at your core.  The other day I was leaving my son's school and I parked in the "long term" area and one of the moms announced that I was a "rule follower".  So, if parking where the principal instructed is being a rule follower, then yes, I guess I am.   Where is the mom this morning, would she call me that after seeing this post?   I am a stickler for rules and I function quite well, thank you very much, but when it comes to fashion the story changes all together.  I get a little naughty and don't always adhere to any "set" rules!! Wearing white after Labor Day?  Sign me up if it is still a bazillion degrees outside and  feels like summer/spring.  I hope that you find what works for you regardless of the season.  Have fun and enjoy, after all, it is just fashion, not politics.

This is the Remix

Maybe I should rethink doing my very own version of a 30 for 30, where I remix 30 pieces of clothing different ways?  I could start, you know, fresh for the fall.  Nah, why would I do that?  I am just enjoying the moments here and figuring it all out.  SO, in the meantime, here is a little photo of a dress I wore back in May for my first style profile, Me, My Style and I.  This dress gets very little time in the rotation, but garners a TON of compliments when I bust it out.  Here I added a little cardi, a beaded necklace I picked up the same day I scored the CFH jeans, a grosgrain d-link belt(prep factor), and patent wedges.  So fun, I might have to bust this out on my next date night.  It was mentioned by the little 5 year old man child that we need to get a sitter and go on a date SOON!! Apparently, we don't get out enough if the little one is URGING us to go out.  Stay tuned..

Simple

I think I am in a RUT??  Do you ever feel this way?  I need to organize my things, purge, regroup.  The kids started back to school and I am sort of floundering in some areas and flourishing in others.  It is the strangest thing to not be organized when I thought I was all prepared?  Oh well, I digress, here is the outfit for today.  I decided to PRESS ON!!  I will be at the drawing board, literally getting my act together.

Me, My Style and I (My mother gets the credit for the title)

Well, let's call today's post, Me, My BUY and I!! I did not have an adult present to photograph me this morning, as my hubs is away for work. So, there was a cute outfit, but I do not have am image of it.  Don't fret girls, it's all good!!
I ran out to my local Goodwill to score a few items to make a Flapper style dress for our oldest daughter's graduation week at school!! Well, well, guess what I stumbled upon???? A clutch for me!! I know, you are wondering why do I not have a clutch?? I guess I just have a deep affinity for my huge, suitcase-like, bottomless adventure of a handbag.  I adore clutches, but the bigger the bag, the better for me!! It is sort of like the wolf in the Little Red Riding Hood story.
I scored the perfect one for me, just the right size, smoke and odor free to boot!! How much do you ask?  Of course, I was never a name dropper or a price tag snob, but I paid a whopping $2.99 for this beauty!! I can not wait to employ this slick clutch with the perfect date night outfit.  Stay tuned for details......Keep stylin'
