Fall Is In The Air

I am on sensory overload, well, at least I am in my head!! I can smell Fall, think warm apple pie, hot cocoa, baked potato soup, or, my favorite Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks!! I can feel it, the freshness to the air. What a welcome treat after a long, hot, sticky summer here in the South.  I can see it, layer upon layer of beautiful scarf, regal colors, tweeds, velvets, smoke billowing from fireplaces, and leaves falling away from their hosts, the trees.  I can hear it, wishing my husband happy birthday and 14 years of marriage, kids yelling,"trick or treat'!! It's going to the pumpkin patch, collecting pine cones, football season, t.v. premieres, and my favorites: my son's birthday and Thanksgiving!!  It is here, upon us, whether we like it or not.  I love this time of year, I embrace it with a warm, hearty bear hug.  It is a welcomed companion after a long hot summer.  It is time marking itself, it is the change of a season, it is God ushering in the close of one year and soon the beginning of a new one.  Yes, I love this time of year and I am all giddy inside, waiting to don my favorite scarf, drink my favorite Pumpkin Spice latte until I've had my fill, and to curl up with the kids by a roaring fire to watch, It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.  I am in a new season of my life and I am here, with arms and palms wide open, not just to receive, but to GIVE.

Are you ready for Fall? Can you smell it?  Can you feel it?  Can you see it?  Can you hear it?

  1. Today it was 60's in Chicago and I was loving it! I'm so excited to break out my jackets! My scarves are calling my name and I can't wait for all of fall! I just hope that it stays a while in Chicago rather than the usual 5 days that we normally get!

  3. I'm so excited for the fall. Though this past week was the hottest we've had in a long time so it was really hard to think about the upcoming cooler season. But I can't wait especially for fall fashion and all the great holidays!
